Eureka Springs 2010

Eureka Springs 20th Event Again this year, another awesome Eureka event. With caravans leaving Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, the Mid-Missouri Corvette members found themselves poised to make the 20th Eureka event something special. The weather was perfect and the Corvettes beautiful. The first highlight of the weekend was the Pauley Racing Team. Erin Pauley brought home a 1st in the ZO6 and a 2nd with the ZR1. Erin’s coach and father, Gary Pauley, pulled a 2nd place with the ZO6 and a 5th place with the ZR1. This awesome accomplishment qualified Erin to drive her Corvette in the “Parade of Champions” on Saturday night. Gary is now in the process of teaching Erin how to do a burn-out in the ZR-1 so next year Erin, we want to see some smoking tires!! The next big accomplishments were the shopping events!! (Unfortunately there were no trophies for this class!) However the competition was fierce. There are honorable mentions for Vickie Dawson for wearing heals so high they were touching her cheeks. Vickie Mallory was also prancing around in some boots, but check out Wanda Darby she was right up there in the mix.. I also saw Judy Harmon and Ellen Hufty spreading around a little green and coming home with some GOLD!! The men had a great time too, not shopping though. If we could only keep John Darby in his chair and off the floor (I know it is not funny, but I may change his name to Humpty-Dumpty Darby if he falls down again). The car show and events were great this year. The poker hands didn’t pan out, but Saturday night the burn-outs did. We saw Vettes, Motorcycles, and would you believe a MALE stripper. That’s right. If you don’t believe me just ask John Johnson. Of course the weekend just isn’t the same until we have our Special Recognition Ceremony. Besides getting John Darby a big bubble to get around town in we may need to get John Johnson a new fur thong. Billy Harmon got some credit for his new profession. (He will be wearing his new shirt to the next meeting that will explain that). Our club had over sixteen cars and over thirty members attending this year’s event. Everyone had a safe splendid drive returning home. (by Judy H. & Tommy M.)
