SEASONS GREETINGS TO ALL!! As I sit here today, snowed in, as many of you are, it is hard not to look out at the beautiful, fresh, white, snow and be reminded of what this special time of the year is for, giving and forgiving. Please keep those two words at the tip of your tongue in spite of all of the pressures, hassles, pushing and pulling each of us feel to get done what we “ think” we have to accomplish. Remember you have a wonderful group of friends among the MMCC family that you can rely on for support be it physical, emotional or both and that may be the greatest gift we can give each other. I hope to see you on Sunday the 17th. Maybe it won’t be just Mr. and Mrs. Claus who get to drive their Vette that day. If you are not able to join us, we wish you and your family a VERY MERRY CHIRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR! Dian

Minutes of the November Meeting of the Mid-Missouri Corvette Club

Call to Order:

The November meeting of the Mid-Missouri Corvette Club was held on Sunday, November 19th, 2006 at the Centralia City Hall following a delicious Thanksgiving meal prepared by members of the club. Our President, Dian Pauley called the meeting to order with the welcoming of new members and visitors.

Treasurer’s Report:

Gary Pauley, Treasurer gave the treasurer’s report as follows: The club balance is at $2,444.00, which includes $684.00, derived from the sale of the MMCC pins. Of that amount, $1,172.00 is allocated leaving an unallocated balance of $1270.00. It was announced that 29 of the 50 bags of pins on hand had been sold.

Secretary’s Report:

The October newsletter was approved as published. Secretary Terry Gilmore read a letter from Mike Whitworth, President of the Central Missouri Dream Factory thanking the club for their donation of $428.44 as well as their continued support. A thank you note from Alan and Mary Watson was read thanking the club members for their support during the loss of Alan’s father.

The Vice-President’s Report

was given by Dian in Vice-President A.K. Zumalt’s absence. She stated the December meeting would be held at the Peach Tree Banquet Center with the meal being $20.00 per person including drink, tax and tip. We will have the annual gift exchange following the dinner.

NCM Update:

No update was given on the National Corvette Museum in Doc’s absence.

Old Business:

It was announced that car decals were available due to the generosity of Sherwood Mann.

Those can be purchased for $5.00 with proceeds being donated to the Central Missouri Dream Factory.

Dian as well as member Wyatt Phillips thanked the club for their support during the Pilot Grove Fall Festival. The weather was awful but the support great! We will work with Wyatt during the festival next year to possibly earn money for the Dream Factory.

Dian handed out maps for the holiday parade taking place directly following the meeting and requested extra cars for siblings, relatives, etc for our Dream Factory Children.

Tommy Mallory reported on the fall drive with the Great Rivers and Quad Car Clubs.

Mary Watson stated that the next meeting for the 2007 Corvette Cup would be held on December 7th with the time and place to be announced. Vickie Mallory requested that the Cup meetings be held on weekends so that those members from outside the Columbia area would better be able to attend. That request will be taken into consideration with future meeting dates to be announced.

Dian put forth a reminder to bring your t-shirts with Corvette logos for the quilt that will be put together and donated for the Cup.

New Business:

Dian had received an e-mail regarding the sale of Corvette calendars. A sign-up list was sent around. Calendars will be sold at $15.00 each with profits going to benefit the Central Missouri Dream Factory.

Rebecca Johnson suggested that business cards for the MMCC be printed. A discussion ensued regarding. A motion was made to elect Rebecca to try to get these cards donated. The motion was seconded.

Mary Watson announced the date of the Dream Factory Christmas Party. This will be held on December 10th at the Kemper Arena in Columbia, MO. Requests were made for help with this activity. Dallas Mallory volunteered to take care of the PA system, John Johnson offered his ladders and several members volunteered to help decorate. We will begin decorating at 10 am. Mary will send an e-mail with details regarding this event.

Per Bobby Mallory, Tommy Mallory has volunteered to chair an Activity Committee for 2007. We will look to him for future “social” events. Thanks Tommy!

The dates of the Texas Motor Speedway were announced as May 17-19, 2007.

A discussion was held regarding the mailing cost of care packages to Ashley Heibel, an MMCC member now serving overseas. This has not been a club project however it was suggested that this might be something we would wish to consider.

Rebecca Johnson requested that the club enlist a general policy for handling of care packages to our servicemen overseas as well as funeral remembrances. In light of the fact that many of our members had left for the Holiday Parade this discussion was tabled to the December meeting.

A thank you was extended to all for their part in the wonderful meal and the November meeting of the MMCC was adjourned.

Respectfully submitted, Terry Gilmore Sec.
