Text Box: The Corvette Cup 2008 has come to a wonderful conclusion. Please, everyone who was involved, display a big smile, give a sigh of relief, and even pat a co-op person on the back. You all deserve it. We will be writing a check to the Central Missouri Dream Factory for in excess of $19,000.
Now we start the thought process for Cup 2009 with the new chairperson, Dian Pauley. Even though she is the new face of the Cup, everyone needs to put their ideas into action. Personally, I plan to support Dian from a respectful distance, but always ready to serve where she deems necessary.
Text Box: As you might have noticed from our event calendar, a lot of shows are coming up. Let’s all try to attend some or all of them. We need to repay our friends for their attendance, especially with the weather conditions they endured. It’s also a good idea to represent our club by attending new events and making new friends.
One of my recent trips was to an all Corvette auction in Lee’s Summit. On May 1st, John Chapman, Alan Watson , Joe McCoy and myself saw how our Corvettes are holding their value. It seems the mid-year cars(‘63-67) are really rising in value.
On May 4th, 7 of our of Text Box: our members attended the Superior Chevrolet Corvette Show in Shawnee Mission, Ks., sponsored by KCCA. The weather was super. There were more than 100 cars there. All of our members who entered their cars were given plaques for different levels of achievement. All of the KCCA members were happy to see us and promised more trips to our show. Such friends we have made… and we all share the same passion for our cars. A big additional benefit is the difference we make in the lives of those less fortunate by our support of Camp Quality(KCCA) and the Central Missouri Dream Factory (MMCC).
